Solar Feasibility Study

Recommended where solar purchase is envisioned, (instead of using a PPA), New Jersey Solar Consulting offers a solar feasibility study which provides a wealth of information.  Even where an installation company has provided similar information, our feasibility study can uncover potential areas of concern that were not initially apparent.

Sample Solar Feasibility Study

Solar Feasibility Study Components:

I. Site Suitability Assessments:

 A. Solar Assessments:
     - Shading study and percentage of shade degradation, if any
     - Suitable rooftop surface orientation and inclination
     - Total anticipated amount of sun received per day and per year on average
     - Summary opinion of site suitability for solar PV installation.

B. Rooftop Physical Assessments:
     - Approximate usable dimensions and percent of usable PV panel space

II. PV System Determinations:

     - System size required to cover 100% of current power usage (in A/C Watts)
     - Approximate weight of required panels and mounting structure / ballasts
     - Distance from closest possible power line hook-up point (electrical run)

III. Financial:

     - Total estimated system cost including all parts and installation
     - Likely maintenance allowance factor including inverter replacement scenario
     - Break-even and ROI analysis carried out 15 years

IV. Deliverable Report:

     - All statistics gathered from the above efforts and photographs of each subject property    compiled with summary opinion as the sole deliverable for this project.

Solar feasibility study components can be tailored to meet job requirements.  Structural engineering can be added if roof sufficiency is in question.
